2011 In Review
MarriageTeam experienced a wonderful year of growth and increased outreach to the community through the efforts of its hundreds of volunteers and donors. This is what we have accomplished. Thank you for being a part of the MarriageTeam.
Growth
• Inquiries from 172 (2010) to a projected 210 in 2011; A 22% increase.
• As of Nov 30, couples coached, 103 exceed 92 in 2010; projected to be 111 by year-end.
• Couples trained 100!
• Coaches increased from 106 to 143 for a 35% increase!
• Donors increased 357%! More than 70% were first time donors in 2011!

Initiatives
• Pastor’s Forum, Royal Oaks Country Club, Feb, 17 participants.
• Three friend raising events (Clark Public Utilities, Lake Oswego, Park Towers).
• Book published, Rick and Jane Learn to Listen and Talk, Apr.
• Added a spring luncheon and Radiothon; generated 29 calls for coaching and 67 donations.
• Major remodeling of MarriageTeam website, Aug.
• Grant Request for a DVD Program to train Coach Couples to be MarriageTeam trainers, Oct.
• Family Life – Vetting process in work to be a counseling resource for Portland and Vancouver.
• Tango Family Initiative – Submitted proposal to for mobile app for coaching – possible inclusion (pro bono) with a major rollout in 2012.
• Focus on the Family – Collaboration proposal being evaluated by the Director for Strategic Alliances in conjunction with the Director of Marriage and Family Formation.
• Family Dynamics – Preliminary discussions for follow-on coaching services to an estimated 25% of couples (5-10/mo) completing A New Beginnings Weekend for couples in crises.
• Bob Haskins developing a FamilyTeam parenting curriculum based on the MarriageTeam workbook.
• Mike Wendling leading effort to make marriage coaching available through Employee Assistance Programs.
Training and Workshops
• Added a ‘coaching class’ to Multnomah University, Graduate Counseling Program, trained 26 graduate counseling students. Course will be offered again next year. Two students reported to the Department Chair the course significantly helped their marriages.
• Workshop, Vancouver Church of Christ, Crazy Love Conference, Feb 18-19, 6 couples.
• Portland Christian Sunday School Class, led by Linda Noah, 75 couples, Feb-May.
• Trinity Fellowship workshop, led by Bob and Jean Haskins.
• Coach Training, Vancouver, Mar 18-27, 25 couples.
• Workshop, Western Seminary, Jun 11, 19 couples.
• Workshop, Better Marriages Conference, Albuquerque, Jul 8.
• Coach Training, Vancouver, Sep 30 – Oct 9, 15 couples.
• Coach Training, Salem, Nov 3 – 12, 20 couples.
