MarriageTeam Reaching More of the Masses

Autumn and AI Ray’s MarriageTeam radio show is doubling its airtime and expanding its
reach. As of July 13, the faith-based marriage counseling program airs Sundays from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Christian radio station KPDQ 93.9 FM, in addition to its noontime Saturday show on KPDQ 800 AM.
The Sunday airing is a three-month trial run and will continue if funding allows. The FM station reaches listeners throughout Oregon and Washington, while KPDQ is limited to the Vancouver-Portland area. The Rays, a Camas couple and co-founders of the nonprofit organization MarriageTeam, hope the added exposure will help them expand to communities around the country.
MarriageTeam approaches marriage like a team sport. Through coaching from other couples, spouses develop a common playbook to communicate and work through problems. “The metaphor is, now they’re on the same team and are working together to win,” AI Ray said.
MarriageTeam is offering a training session in October for married couples who’d like to become coaches. Information is available on the Web site, marriageteam.org.
