Volunteer Opportunities

MarriageTeam has many volunteer opportunities available.  To volunteer, contact us with your name, phone number, e-mail address, and your area of interest and we will follow-up with specifics on how you can become involved.  Opportunities exist for:

Card Writers – Providing cards of encouragement to couples who are being coached is an effective way to encourage them as they work to learn new communication and problem solving skills

Couple Follow-up – Follow-up with couples is important for encouragement and offering additional assistance if required.  It also is needed to document the effectiveness of the program, which is very important for fund raising, and to better understand ways that we can make the program more effective.

Event Volunteers – Throughout the year, MarriageTeam hosts many events that need ‘extra staffing’. If you feel you can help here, please let us know.  Events typically occur in the Spring with our Radiothon and in the Fall with our banquet.

Fund Raising – There are many opportunities to support fundraising that range from maintaining contact with current donors through calls, cards, letters, a newsletter, and written success stories.

Grant Writer – MarriageTeam will be applying for grants and writers and readers are needed to help secure additional funding to build the capacity to meet growing community needs.

Graphic Artist – Effective and professional presentation is extremely important for the website and marketing materials used to convey the MarriageTeam message.

Marketing – Includes many opportunities such as calling, mailing, scheduling appointments, locating places to advertise, sharing information in your circle of influence, etc.

Office Support – There is a continuing need for skilled administrative support in the office to perform a wide range of tasks such as returning calls, data entry, follow-up on coaches and couples who have completed coaching, mailings, etc.

Testimonials – People are moved by personal stories.  If you have a testimonial about what MarriageTeam has done for you or your family, we would love to talk with you.

Training Assistants – It requires a lot of support to conduct a training session.  Tasks that need to be done include from snack and food preparation, making copies, assembling training materials, etc.

Writers -  There is a need for talented writers to contact people and document their coaching experiences for the newsletter as well as other written venues such as newspaper or magazine articles.
